Looking back, my blogging here has been pretty sparse over the past couple months. Mostly that’s because I’ve been too busy with work and finishing our home remodel to come up with anything interesting to write. Sorry. But I can post today about Redfin’s Thursday website upgrade with schools on the map, school reviews & [...]

Within an hour of the post, Steph, a Qwest customer service manager , direct replied to me on Twitter asking how she could help fix it. She did what I expected the folks on the phone to do when they missed my appointment: she took care of the professional install fee I was paying ($40) and worked to get me setup earlier than the next Saturday. I had to only deal with 2 more hours of waiting for the tech to arrive and hook it up instead of 4 or 5. It still wasn't quite a flawless execution from there on out, but they were professional, very prompt in answers to my questions and the timeline to the tech. ... I've called their techsupport since and have gotten a mixed bag: one guy was awesome, one guy wanted to make me quit right then.

While reading Glenn's post on reading resumes (something I've spent a ton of time doing lately), I clicked through to Guy Kawasaki's piercing blog post about cover letters. What cracked me up the most, though, was what the Alltop Widget embedded in the page apparently thought the post was about: slavery news.

OK, hopefully this is a new and improved blog where I can play around with more plugins, etc and actually learn some things. I've moved off Wordpress.com and onto my own domain, www.bryanselner.com and blog.bryanselner via BlueHost to open up new possibilities on what I can learn and play with in Wordpress. Let me know if you see any problems with the new site. I'm sure there'll be a couple kinks to work out.
